I know I haven't submitted much work in the past but in the past my social life was more important, I guess sometimes as a high school student that's how it has to be.
I am currently attending Penn College of Tech for a Bachelor's in Graphic Design and I'm already half way done with second semester. Let me tell you, as a freshman, they tear you to shreds to try to weed people out of the major. I never knew it'd be this difficult but you either have to love art or you learn to hate it. I still love it but sometimes I find it difficult to stay on task with my current situations at home. I plan on staying here for another year and then transferring to either the Art Institute in Los Angeles or Pratt University in New York City- that is, if my grades stay up and my portfolio shows effort. I've already had classes in Drawing I, Painting I, Black & White Photography I, 2-D Design, and Color & Design. I am hoping to submit some of my pieces soon enough.
As for my regular life, I wouldn't exactly call it normal. My whole family has lived in one town in Connecticut their whole lives, that includes my grandparents, my aunts and uncles, and my cousins. Already two of my eldest cousins whom are sisters have moved to Arizona, one of my cousins lives in Vermont, my other cousin just bought a house with her boyfriend a town over, and both of my parents are planning to move to Maryland. It's crazy watching everyone grow up and go their different ways. Of course I'm going to school in PA and only get to go home every 2 months as of now and I'll be returning in a week. It's strange that the house I have lived in CT with my parents since I was 9 will now be mine when I come home. My mother had to move to Maryland after getting a job with the FDA and after my stepfather was laid off from Foxwoods MGM Casino he will finally be moving with her. She's currently in the market for a house down there so they can live permanently in Maryland. Of course, the house in CT we own will be rented while I'm away at school and when I return for summer I will live there considering I have two jobs, all my friends and family live there and I've been raised in that town my whole life. I'm afraid it will be difficult, this is all new to me, really living on my own and taking responsibilities- but I'm not complaining, I sort of have it made. I mean, I'll have my own house on the beach, I'm going to college for art which I love, I have a nice Acura RSX, I have my puppy(a Siberian Husky) and corn snake, two jobs for when I return that offer amazing pay, what is there not to be happy about?
I guess it's all about growing up.
